Weekly Poem #2

Busy Loneliness
8/7/09

Time, the element of change
With its control out of our hands
Yet we’ve found a way to cage
It up in small routine-plans

We all play with our blocks of Time
What you make of them is our lives
Will you spare some blocks
or through away your clock?

As Time goes on without a care,
The schedule fills the emptiness
At my blocked in wall, I stare
Wondering if my busy loneliness
Will ever fill the holes inside
Wonder if you’re hiding behind

I’ve built a fortress with my Time
Room for only one to come inside
Too many could break these walls
Don’t knock down what cannot fall

I stayed up all night long
I had nothing better to do
Not knowing what was wrong
Wonder now if I ever did knew

As Time goes on without a care,
The schedule fills the emptiness
At my blocked in wall, I stare
Wondering if my busy loneliness
Will ever fill the holes inside
Wonder if you’re hiding behind
The blocks of Time

My social life was satisfied
So loneliness never visited
Still a feeling that won’t subside,
darkened eyes never well hid it

A soul I never had on my mind
Called to see if I was alright
It all began to hit me then
My emptiness was missing friends

As Time goes on without a care,
The schedule fills the emptiness
At my blocked in wall, I stare
Wondering if my busy loneliness
Will ever fill the holes inside
Wonder if you’re hiding behind

Pushing down my blocks, I’m ready
For a real life that’s not confined
By mankind’s blocks of Time
And now my Time is let free
